Aromatherapy for a Successful School Year
Helping your family stay centered, connected, and well with plant-based tools for the school year ahead

Hello Friend!
A friend recently shared a story that felt like a balm during a time of uncertainty. She and her partner would often pause to watch Monarch butterflies in their sacred transformation. They marveled as each chrysalis formed, the tiny black dots sprinkled across a jade shell like a miniature constellation.
Inside, all would go still. A deep, almost impossible stillness, as if life itself had paused. But within that silence, the miracle had already begun.
When the time was right, the chrysalis would open. The Monarch would emerge, trembling and fragile, gathering its strength. They would watch it unfurl its wings, sunlight revealing each intricate pattern until at last, it lifted into the air, vibrant and free.
I think of that story often. It reminds me to trust the quiet. To release the need to grasp so tightly. To believe that change, no matter how still or uncertain, carries life within it.

Aromatic Creations Recipe
New seasons of life ask us to stretch in new ways. For students, that might mean adjusting to a different classroom, meeting new teachers, or tackling unfamiliar subjects. For adults, it might mean shifting work schedules, managing after-school activities, or holding space for a child’s big emotions while balancing our own.
This inhaler supports both kids and adults through that process. It helps to calm anxiety and boost peaceful concentration. It’s a sweet companion for kids, who can carry it in a pocket or their backpack, and use it when they feel stressed or can’t focus (it’s even supportive for immune health). It’s safe for children ages 5 and older.
Ingredients
4 drops Sweet Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis)
3 drops Frankincense Oil (Boswellia carterii)
3 drops Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
Directions
You’ll need one blank inhaler to make this recipe.
Drop the essential oils onto the cotton wick of a blank inhaler, then place the wick inside.
Snap on the end cap, and unscrew the cover to inhale.
Keep in a pocket, backpack, or purse, and take a slow, deep breath whenever you feel anxious or need help maintaining focus.
Small tools can make a big difference!
Notes of Discovery
The start of a new school year is a transition from one daily routine to another. The long, unstructured days of summer give way to earlier mornings, packed schedules, and new social landscapes. Change, no matter how welcome, requires energy, and sometimes it can feel like we’re being asked to spread our wings before they’re ready.
This week on the Aromahead Blog, we’re sharing a comprehensive back-to-school with aromatherapy guide, designed to make that leap into a new season gentler for the whole family.
Inside, you’ll find simple, effective recipes to:
Boost immunity & prevent infection — from a Tea Tree Immune Boosting Diffuser Blend to a refreshing Aloe & Lemon Verbena Purifying Hand Gel.
Calm anxiety & support mental health — with tools like the “Brave Kid” Inhaler for separation anxiety and a Parent Burnout Roller for those juggling it all.
Improve focus & energy — using peppermint, rosemary, and black spruce to encourage clarity and ease screen fatigue.
Create consistent home rhythms — with blends for smoother mornings, grounded evenings, and peaceful Sunday night prep.
Our children can thrive in times of change when they have the right support (and so can we). Aromatherapy offers that quiet strength, helping us emerge from life’s transitions vibrant, resilient, and ready to soar.
Product Spotlight
Warm and balsamic, with soft, resinous depth, frankincense sacra has been cherished for centuries as a companion in prayer, meditation, and quiet reflection. Like the stillness inside a chrysalis, it offers a calm center from which transformation can take place.
Our frankincense sacra is distilled from the finest “Hojari” resin, gathered from ancient Boswellia trees in Oman’s Hojari mountains. This precious resin is sustainably harvested under special permission granted by the Omani royal family, ensuring both the preservation of the trees and the cultural heritage of this sacred practice. Each drop carries the purity of its high-altitude origin, connecting you to a tradition as old as recorded history.
Benefits of Frankincense sacra:
Promote emotional grounding & calm
Support meditation & spiritual practices
Encourage relaxation & restful sleep
Refine and rejuvenate the complexion
Soothe skin irritations & care for scars
Ease inflammation in muscles & joints
Support deep, even breathing
Bolster immune health
Frankincense sacra reminds us that transitions are best met with both steadiness and grace.
From The Vine
Some children struggle more than others to stay calm and focused in the classroom, especially if they have ADHD.
Recently, a few members of the Natural Living Club were discussing this. Renata (a certified aromatherapist and RN) shared how she helped a 9-year-old child with ADHD achieve deeper focus.
She sat down with the boy and his mom, and had him smell oils until he found a few that absolutely lit him up. And it worked! His mom called Renata a week later, saying that he was using the inhaler and actually finishing his homework.
Renata said:
“I used Frankincense 3 drops, Lemon 3 drops, and Grapefruit 2 drops in an inhaler. If you're using it with kids, I really recommend letting them choose the scents they like. 😋”

The butterfly does not count the months but moments, and has time enough.
We tend to measure time in big milestones. Those turning points are important and memorable, marking our lives like pressing a thumbprint into clay. Yet life is shaped in moments. A deep breath before the morning rush. The warmth of a hand slipped into yours. Laughter that bubbles up when you least expect it.
We can choose to be present and mindful of these moments. In doing so, we find that there is always enough time for what truly matters.
